Break-out sessions
1. Maximising Value: how to utilize biproduct from hydrogen production?
Achieving circularity in hydrogen production projects is crucial. To accomplish this, we must utilize the byproducts effectively. In this workshop, we will explore various possibilities for utilizing byproducts, main focus on oxygen, but we will also address heat generating during production.
Involved: Johnny Stuen (Rely), Mathias Gustavsson (IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute), Camilla Werningsen (Linde Gas), Mario Ditaranto (Sintef), Are Opstad Sæbø (HYDS)
2. What now? Shaping our response: Developing an action plan for the Norwegian hydrogen industry
Despite the positive developments in the first part of 2024, the industry has faced several setbacks in recent months: the delay of the World Heritage fjords, the cancellation of multiple hydrogen projects, and a disappointing national budget.
How should we, as an industry, respond? In this session, we will work together to create a unified action plan on how to engage with the authorities in the lead-up to next autumn's election.
3. Building competence on ammonia as a safe and cost-efficient maritime fuel.
Risk mitigation and technological advancements in the ammonia value chain - key findings and insights from the research project MaritimeNH3. Facilitated by Sintef.
Presentation and discussion, by Hans L. Skarsvåg: Understanding ammonia gas behavior for safe Handling and leak response.
Presentation and discussion, by Truls Flatberg: Showcasing a model optimizing the location and dimension of ammonia production facilities, along with transport and bunkering infrastructure, to support the introduction of ammonia as a maritime fuel in Norway.
